Aussie singer-songwriter, musician and musician of music, Chris Heppner, who was killed in a highway crash in February 2018, has released a new song that will be played for the first time ever in the state of Texas.
Mr Heppson’s song, called ‘Pension’ for the Highwaymen, was recorded on March 2 in Austin and features a guitar solo by his wife, Michelle.
In the song, Mr Heppsons wife, Sarah, sings: ‘The first time I will ever hear a song that I’m proud of like that.’
She continued, ‘I don’t think I can ever forget what I heard from him.
It was the first song he would ever play.’
He was the one that got us through this and it was just such a beautiful moment.’
There are some songs I would have never heard or written if it wasn’t for him.’
The song, which has been nominated for the 2018 National Singles Album and has been released online, is a tribute to Mr Heppsons wife.
In an interview with The Australian, Ms Heppson said the song was recorded in the comfort of their home in Sydney.’
I don`t know what my next move is.
I don`ll ever know what it is,’ she said.’
This is my baby.’
But, you know, he’s such a wonderful man and his wife and family really did a wonderful job.’
You know, you can just feel the love.
I couldn`t be happier.’
The singer also revealed that her husband, who died aged 63, had a passion for music and would play his favourite songs in his honour.
Mr Hettsons wife added: ‘I have written music for him and his favourite music was when he was in the hospital.
He loved music so much.’
