HANOI (AP) The state of Hawaii has named a new highway the Hawaiian Highway, which stretches from the island of Maui to the Big Island.
The Highway Inn Waipahu starts at the intersection of the Big Lake, a large lake in the middle of Waipai Bay, and Interstate Highway 810, a highway connecting Waipali and Kailua.
It ends at a new bridge across the Big Wave, a vast oceanfront estuary in the Big Islands.
The state of Alaska, where there are no paved highways, renamed a highway in late June after an earthquake and tsunami in that state in 2016.
