It’s not every day a highway is reopened after being closed for months.
But the Kings Highway Department says it’s finally safe for drivers to drive in the highway.
The Kings Highway Division of Transportation said Sunday that it reopened Highway 101 after a two-month delay.
The department said the roadway was closed for a few hours Sunday due to high winds and a large fire.
It reopened around 3 p.m. and reopened again Monday.
The highway was closed again from 9 p.k. until about 4:30 a.m., and reopened in all directions until about 5:30 p.t. on Tuesday.
It reopened in three directions, including southbound lanes that are closed at night, and in all four directions, from downtown Los Angeles to Culver City.
The freeway was closed between Pasadena and Long Beach due to wildfires.
